PRESS RELEASE AUGUST 2007
Moonhag present
Something Fishy
1st
– 27th August 2007
Pleasance Below
Something Fishy, an accomplished piece of comic physical storytelling from Moonhag, opens at the Pleasance Below on Wednesday 1st August, 2.05pm. Performers Kate Mooney and Liz Hague conjure a colourful world from nothing, and carefully spin a sly story of deceit. Deftly theatrical, swift character changes lure the audience into the world of Something Fishy, brought to imaginative life through “Hague & Mooney’s theatrical nous” Time Out****.
Something Fishy tells the story of Daisy and Petunia - our ever so nice, yet hapless heroines - who find themselves stranded in the seemingly friendly fishing town of Beever. With characteristic theatrical ingenuity, Moonhag introduce a series of Beever inhabitants, each more grotesque than the last.. Something Fishy shows a world literally flipped upside down, and we gradually begin to ask ourselves…why are there no fish in Beever?
Something Fishy is devised and written by artists Liz Hague & Kate Mooney, and developed through BAC’s Scratch Programme. Following a sell-out London run where the show received the accolade Time Out Critic’s Choice, Moonhag have since been invited back to BAC to begin work on a second production and to work alongside the highly acclaimed Punchdrunk in BAC’s Autumn season.
